God still speaks today - through His perfectly sufficient written Word. What God says satisfies our intellectual hunger, and what He says shows the Beauty of His love for His people. Truth and Beauty come together in one place: God in His Word.

Colossians 3:1-4
1) Thinking about the context of what precedes in 2:18-23, how does this passage show us that our salvation is not dependent on particular religious observances? How does it speak against the idea that we need specific spiritual experiences to prove we are saved? (Consider who Paul is writing to—Colossians 1:2).
2) What are the implications of the fact that not only is Jesus seated at the right hand of God, but we are also seated there with Him, in regards to:
Access to God
Acceptance by God
Safety
Our joy
Security of salvation
(Some verses to consider: Romans 8:31-39; John 14:6; Hebrews 12:2; Psalm 16:11; Psalm 110)
3) Why do you think Paul ties the fact that our life has been hidden with Christ in God to the instruction to seek and set our minds on the things above? If he is not talking about pursuing spiritual experiences, what do you think Paul is telling us to do? (Consider Matthew 5:6; Philippians 4:8; Romans 12:9-21)
4) What are some ways that we can seek the things that are above and set our minds on things that are above, and how do you think we could do those things more consistently?
